First, and foremost, The Universal Church of Gravity teaches that, with our complex but limited minds, we will never be able to understand the true meaning of a Supreme Deity. Humans have developed many religious groups around the world and have identified prophets (e.g., Abraham, Jacob, Noah, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad), but no group has been able to satisfactorily describe the actual creator of the Universe (or Universes if you like). The common thread in all religions is the desire by humankind to understand who/what is God. We believe that the indefinable, relentless force of Gravity represents the God for which we are all searching.
Through the study of mathematics, Sir Issac Newton and Albert Einstein described Gravity with mathematical equations and Astronomy, we have learned that without Gravity there would be no Universe and similarly, without a God there would be no Universe. We Gravitists know there is a Supreme Being and choose to believe it is represented by Gravity. Recently, astronomers have concluded that there are two other unknown forces in the Cosmos; Dark Matter, which is unseen material between the stars and galaxies and Dark Energy which is the force that is pulling the Universe apart. To non-believers, Dark Energy, if it exists, may supplant Gravity as God, but we choose to believe it simply represents activity caused by Gravity.
Unlike many other religions, we do not believe God (Gravity) hears our lamentations when we ask, through prayer, for help to make it through the trials and tribulations encountered between birth and death. Quite to the contrary, we believe each of us must accept the responsibility to act in a trustworthy and caring way to others on the planet. The acceptance of this responsibility is not to earn rewards in an afterlife existence; we do it to satisfy our yearning for inner peace. Those that act irresponsibly, and are in control of their faculties, do not know true happiness. Those unfortunates who are developmentally impaired, or are in the state of arrested development, must be excused (but controlled) for their irresponsible acts.
To accept Gravity as God and call yourself a Gravitist, you need only to follow seven basic rules:
• Do not hurt other humans, unless it is in self-defense.
• Do not hurt animals, unless it is in the pursuit of sustenance.
• Be willing to give your life for your offspring and spouse (in that order).
• Offer help to others only if it does not diminish the care of your family.
• Follow moderation in all things.
• Do not cheat or steal from others.
• Do not lie – you won’t be able to remember what you said anyway.
The Church Founder has follows these rules and has found inner peace.
